Agriculture

Our Laboratory and Our Bank

Agriculture is our Laboratory

Agriculture is our laboratory because all the Mission’s staff need to receive practical training in agriculture. But above all, we want to introduce community members, young people and women alike, to modern agricultural techniques. We plan to enter all the villages, seeking to acquire a field to be the source of support for the local church.

Agriculture is our Bank

Agriculture is also our bank, because it’s from agriculture that we want to support the running of the Mission’s administration, but above all evangelization and mission activities. We have a 10-hectare landholding in DALOUMA that we have named FERME PILOTE PENUEL. We’re looking to develop it, fence it in, drill a borehole and put it to good use.

Agricultural Plans

We want to grow potatoes, onions, rice, plantains, vegetables, poultry and small ruminants. We will mentor a group of 25 producers for 15 months, using the Farmer’s Field School approach, while they have their own plot of land, and eventually mentor them to set up small and medium-sized enterprises. We are concerned about the effects of climate change and biodiversity. We focus on regenerative agriculture. We want to give communities back their dignity. But we also know that most people in the region are commercial in blood and are simply looking for a tiny support.
